People who are interested in consigning the items they have need to make sure the clothing is free of stains and the toys work. The furniture should not be under recall and needs to be in good condition. The better condition the items are in, the more the store is willing to pay for them. If at all possible, the clothing should be on hangars. Some stores give you hangars to put the clothes on. An appointment is necessary in most cases, but if you only have a few things the store might go ahead and buy them from you. When you take your items to the consignment store, the store owner will look over them and determine what price the store could sell them for. They will then give you a percentage of that amount. Each store is different in the way they give you this amount, but it is often in the form of a check.
